Scott the Dot‘s latest postcard is from Yemen – let’s see what he has to report!
This time I ended up in Socotra which is a beautiful and unique island that’s located in the Arabian Sea, off the coast of Yemen. It’s a small island, but it’s home to many amazing plants and animals that you can’t find anywhere else in the world.
One of the most famous plants on Socotra is the dragon’s blood tree. These trees are really strange-looking, with thick trunks and branches that spread out like umbrellas. They get their name from the red sap that they produce, which looks like dragon’s blood. The sap is used for all kinds of things, like medicine, dyes, and even chewing gum!
Next week – another Scott the Dot Anecdote!
