Hey everyone – it’s International Kite Day!!

It is a day to fly kites and enjoy the beauty and freedom that kites represent. The holiday has its origins in ancient China, where kites were used for a variety of purposes, including communication, military signaling, and entertainment.

In modern times, International Kite Day is celebrated around the world by people of all ages. Many people gather in public parks or open fields to fly kites, while others enjoy the holiday by watching kite flying demonstrations or participating in kite making workshops.

We’ve put together some activities for you to celebrate kite day: first we’ll show you how to draw a kite (if you don’t already know how to do so), and then you can either send in your own kite design or color one of ours and send that in. If you wish to send us your kite designs simply email them to mayor@shapeshire.com and we’ll share them with the ShapeShire community.

Go out side and fly a kite and don’t forget to have fun!
